Visiting Holiday World with Teenagers

By HoliBlogger Kirsten C.

My husband and I recently had the opportunity to visit Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari for the first time and got to have our two teenage sons tag along with us!

We had heard amazing things about this place so we had to check it out for ourselves. And Holiday World did not disappoint!

Our family absolutely loved everything about it – the roller coasters, water park, fun activities, soft drink stops, and seeing all of the different Holiday-themed sections made this trip both thrilling and relaxing for us adults and our teenagers.

In this blog post I’m going to share 5 tips for visiting Holiday world with teenagers. Hope you all enjoy and get your trip planned soon.

Tip #1: Take 2 Days to Visit the Park

Make sure you have time to visit all the fun things that Holiday world has to offer! Which is a lot.

In my opinion, two days is perfect especially if you are wanting to visit Splashin’ Safari!

I recommend taking a day for each park as they both have a lot of rides and attractions.

Traveling with teenagers is great for this because they’re old enough to explore on their own and do the things that are top priority for them. For our boys it was The Voyage. They wanted to ride it nonstop.

Meanwhile my husband and I spent more time at the lazy river relaxing. Our family gets the best of both worlds.

Tip #2: Book An Overnight Stay

Preferably somewhere near the park to really make it a vacation and enjoy more quality time together.

I would highly recommend Sun Outdoors Lake Rudolph! We stayed there and absolutely loved it. It’s beautiful and a clean place to stay with tons to offer. We loved the pool, putt putt golf, and even ate dinner there as well.

Tip #3: You MUST Ride The Voyage

If you or your teenagers are thrill seekers, a must-ride roller coaster to do is The Voyage!

This coaster is the second-longest wooden roller coasters on the planet. Our boys loved it and rode it multiple times during our trip. There is a reason this one was named the top coaster in the nation.

Tip #4: Plan A Meeting Spot & Reconnect Time

This worked out great for our family.

My husband and I wanted to check out the new tiki bar, Liki Tiki – it’s amazing! – in Splashin’ Safari, and of course our thrill-seeking boys would much rather ride all the roller coasters together. So, we planned to all meet at the Dive! show to reconnect and have some family time together.

Pro-tip: Make sure your teenager’s phone is charged so you can communicate with them.

Tip #5: Take Advantage of the Free Soft Drinks

Going to Holiday World with teenagers means they are going to get extra hungry and thirsty.

Make sure you are taking advantage of the free soft drink Oasis locations all over both parks! Our boys loved them.

We ate and snacked all day long as well. They food is amazing, and there are tons of options to chose from!

My family and I can’t wait to go back and visit again!

We had the best time making memories and Holiday World really knows how to make everyone’s experience both exciting & relaxing. We are already planning our next trip back!
