Fencewatch 2027: What the Flip Flop?!
We’ve been keeping a secret.
It’s been years since “Project Flip Flop” entered our vernacular in the Holiday World offices, but it’s finally about to be unveiled.
It’s a pretty small project… barely noticeable when you’re in the park. Unless you find hundreds of feet of brown fence with flip flops painted on accompanied by loud construction noises “noticeable.”
Joking aside, this is shaping up to be our largest single-attraction investment in park history. And if you know Holiday World, that means we’re going to make a huge deal about this thing.
Actually… we have been making a huge deal about this thing. Just quietly… until now.
We’ve been dropping clues for a while now—some in the park, some online. And we’ll continue to drop clues until we announce.
Here are some questions you may be asking:
Where should I look for clues?
There are some scattered throughout the park, and we’ve dropped a few hints on social media already, but we started incorporating hints during the Rubber Duck Days video on April 1. And we may have dropped a hint more than a year ago. Here are some other places to check:

- The not-at-all-fictional Town of Boulder Canyon website, Facebook and Instagram accounts (P.S. Check out the people who comment on the accounts… I’m morally obligated to tell you not to follow their barbecue advice)
- The Flip Flop fence
- Holiday World social media—we’ve dropped a few clues 😉
- Scattered around the parks… some clues are large, some are small
Is it another Raging Rapids?
No, it is not.
But… Raging Rapids ran through Boulder Canyon, so the two rides will always have a special connection.
Can you reveal what clues have been shared?
Nah, it’s way more fun to send you on a wild swan chase.
There’s lots of chatter on the internet about what it is. Has anyone guessed it correctly?
A stopped clock is right twice a day, and some enthusiasts have guessed it. And most are way off.
Is Craig his first name or last name?
I donut know, but he’s quite the character.
Are the rubber ducks part of this? Why is the World’s Largest Rubber Duck here?!
If a rubber duck falls in the bath and no one is there to see, does it make a ripple?
But seriously Mama Duck and her friends, Tammy 1 and Tammy 2, are here for a short time during Rubber Duck Days. You won’t get any extra clues by visiting these beauties, but it’s just impressive to see.

We don’t like to take ourselves too seriously here. Even though this is our biggest investment to date, we’re having tons of fun. But we won’t be Making a mackery of this.
