Firecracker
Firecracker is a classic Calypso ride, one of only a handful still in operation in North America. We restored this vintage ride for the 2017 season with a patriotic theme. It’s located across from Liberty Launch in the park’s 4th of July section.
Tips for your visit
Firecracker is one of only a handful of classic Calypso rides still in operation in North America.
To reduce the “squish” factor, bigger riders should sit on the right side of the car.
One shared seat belt per car.
For shorter waits, ride in the afternoon or evening.

History
Firecracker’s first home was at LeSourdsville Lake Amusement Park near Cincinnati, from 1972-2002 when the park closed permanently; a few years later, it was moved to Fun Spot in northeast Indiana, where it remained after the park shuttered in 2008 until 2016, when Holiday World purchased the ride with plans to restore it.

Ride Description
A fast-moving ride with cars that move around a rotating base.
Attraction Access & Riding Position
Riders must be able to maintain an upright position and control of upper torso, head, and neck throughout the ride or be accompanied by a Supervising Companion. Adults should sit on the right side (direction of travel) of the car as weight will shift in this direction during the ride. At minimum, riders must have at least one functioning hand and one leg, or one functioning hand and two leg remnants at or below the knee. Riders with one functioning arm instead of one functioning hand must be accompanied by a Supervising Companion. Ride requires use of a shared seat belt and grab bar.
Accessible entrance at ride exit. Must transfer from wheelchair/ECV.
