Most Unique Foods at Holiday World
From Turkey Legs to Dole Whips, Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari is full of tasty unexpected eats. One of my favorite parts of going to theme parks is trying the unique or local food options. Therefore, when asked to find the most unusual food in the park, I raised my fork and dove right in.
What made this particular challenge so difficult is that Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari puts a lot of thought and detail into crafting their menus to reflect different holiday cuisines and accommodate various dietary restrictions.
It was hard work, but after many delicious meals, snacks, and desserts, we put together a list of the most unique foods at Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari that you don’t want to miss out on.
Unique Savory Finds
Turkey Leg Dinner
In Thanksgiving, you will find juicy Turkey Legs at The Plymouth Rock Cafe near the Turkey Whirl. These jumbo turkey legs can be paired with traditional Thanksgiving sides such as Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Mac N’ Cheese, Stuffing, and Sweet Potato Casserole, to name a few.
The turkey leg dinner is a great option to share or split with others in your party.
Impossible Meat Burrito
The Alamo, a Mexican eatery in 4th of July, gives guests the option to add the savory vegan option of Impossible Meat to their entrees. We find this option wonderful because you can customize your meal to include all the toppings, so each meal is uniquely yours.
Guests can choose Impossible Meat in other menu items such as quesadillas, nachos, and tacos. My husband and I would often split a burrito while our daughter rode the nearby Tippecanoes on repeat.
Cauliflower Pizza
One of our favorite unique eats was the Cauliflower Pizza at George’s Gluten-Free Pizza. Located in the 4th of July Section across from Holidog Express, George’s creates cauliflower pizza creations that even my six-year old daughter devoured.
Guests can choose from traditional toppings such as pepperoni, cheese, and sausage. Don’t miss out on George’s additional gluten-free options, such as a pretzel and seasonal chili.
Unusual Sweet Treats
Souvenir Popcorn Bucket
A staple for many theme parks is fresh buttery popcorn, but Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari ups the game with a Souvenir Popcorn Bucket. The secret with the Souvenir Popcorn Bucket is that it is refillable, making it a huge money-saver.
Purchase your refillable popcorn bucket early in the season and enjoy popcorn refills for only $2.99 all season long. The buckets change each year, so it has become a tradition to start collecting them!
Deep Fried Oreos
Often only spotted at state fairs, imagine my excitement when I discovered Deep Fried Oreos at Freedom Funnel Cakes. These ooey gooey deep-fried balls of deliciousness come with four in order and are dusted in powdered sugar.
Dipped in pancake batter and fried to perfection, these will quickly rise as your new favorite.
Dole Whip
What’s better than a frozen Dole Whip on a blistering hot day in Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari? Two Dole Whips! While the flavor that most people think of is pineapple, this iconic dessert is also served in strawberry at the park.
Grab a pineapple, strawberry, or twist Dole Whip at Sweet Stuff in 4th of July.
