Riding Good Gravy! For the First Time

There are so many good reasons to take your family to Holiday World.

I would know. I’ve been visiting since I was in elementary school.

After my kid finished up their school year – ending 2nd and 3rd grade! – we thought it would be fun to take a quick little family trip! It was such a great way to kick off summer break with our family.

I love that it is a short drive from home, so we have the option of staying a few nights or just doing a day trip. We love to do a mix of both. For this trip, we stayed the night locally at a campground in a fun cabin.

Some of my favorite reasons to visit include the free drinks, free sunscreen, and the best family-friendly rides.

So we headed out for a 3-day visit!

We were so excited for this trip because we wanted to ride Holiday World’s newest ride, Good Gravy!

You could say that we quickly became *obsessed* with it! We saw a billboard for the ride near our neighborhood and, since passing it on the road, my daughters have both been begging to ride it. It truly is the perfect family friendly ride.

We rode it several times during our trip to Holiday World, and, personally, it’s my new favorite ride!

Let Me Walk You Through Good Gravy!

The whole atmosphere while standing in line was so neat.

To start, the ride’s station is air-conditioned – a major bonus while you wait on hot summer days. The waiting area felt like a throwback in time. My daughters and I enjoyed looking at all of the rooms while we waited for our turn to ride.

This made the wait time pass so quickly!

Your wait for the ride is inside Grandma Gracy’s house. Grandma is known for her “good gravy” and Grandpa Gavin is her biggest fan. However, the worst thing happens. The family runs out of gravy for Thanksgiving dinner! So, it’s your job to whip up a batch of fresh gravy.

You board a giant gravy boat shaped train. Then you dodge oversized kitchen accessories and ingredients – like a whisk, rolling pin, dairy bottle, and stuffing box!

The ride has you travel up a seven-story tall spike, and then you go backwards to make more gravy and save Thanksgiving dinner for the family.

This is the perfect ride for Guests of any age.

You must be 38 inches tall to ride. The max speed is 37 miles per hour, which makes for the perfect burst of fun!

Honestly, I could have stood in line all day to ride Good Gravy! over and over. It’s the perfect new family ride.

All in all, we can’t wait to go back to Holiday World and ride again!
