Through the Lens of Fall: Our Favorite Holiday World Memories
There’s something nostalgic and magical about saying goodbye to another season.
At Holiday World’s Happy Halloween Weekends, the air feels different – golden, crisp, and just soft enough to make you pause.
The park glows under that perfect golden light, and everything from the slight haze of the evening to the laughter echoing off the rides feels wrapped in the last of the year’s warmth and memory.
Every visit, the boys are growing taller, braver, and more independent with every step.
The same rides that once required my hand now welcome them solo, and next year, I know they’ll grow out of a few of their ‘little kid’ favorites and into the big ones they’ve been dreaming about. It’s bittersweet and so dang beautiful.

☀️ Morning Magic: Catching the Last Light of Summer
The park wakes up with a quiet nod to the coming seasons. You can feel summer exhaling its last breath while fall leans in with open arms.

We started our morning at Good Gravy!, one of our favorite family rides. The boys giggled through every twist and turn, but this time, one of them didn’t reach for my hand. He just smiled back, confident and ready. A little moment that landed deep. These rides don’t just mark the day; they mark the years.
Frightful Falls and the entire Halloween section is up next, but of course we made a quick pit stop at the Gobbler Getaway to take on the turkeys, while still in season.

🍔 Midday Moments: Where Time Stands Still
We stopped for lunch at Goblin Burgers and didn’t miss a chance to refill from the Pepsi Oasis.
The ketchup-covered smiles, the “remember when…” stories, the way everyone can’t wait to relive their favorite ride of the season one last time and anticipate what will come next.
Holiday World has this gift of slowing us down. Even when the park buzzes with excitement, there are still pockets of calm, the kind that let you notice how their legs don’t dangle quite as high from the picnic table anymore or that you can no longer split a cheeseburger between them. 🥰

🌽 Afternoon Adventures: Lost in the Corn Maze + Hayride
The Jurassic Party Plaza is one of our favorite fall spots. From the crunching leaves and sun setting to the hum of a tractor. We conquered the Dino Corn Maze and headed back for a few more rides before night falls and the Dinos Soar!

🌅 Sunset Glow: Where Fall Feels Like Forever
As the sun starts to set, the park transforms into something from a storybook. The air cools, lights twinkle to life, and there’s this golden hue casting across the park that makes it feel whimsical and romantically cinematic.
It’s the perfect mix of joy and nostalgia, one last chance to soak it all in before the season and sun slip away.
We rode the Mayflower one last time, just as the sun dipped below the horizon. It’s always been our “one more ride” before closing for the season.
Watching the boys raise their arms high, I felt that tug, the one between pride and ache as we heard our call “LAST RIDE OF THE NIGHT – HOLD ON TIGHT!”
Next year, they’ll be taller. They’ll brave the bigger rides. But tonight, they’re still little enough to squeeze my arm tight, midair and shout, “AGAIN!” as the ride and season come to a stop.

🌙 Nighttime Wonder: The Last ROAR of the Season
The crowds scurry to Party Plaza. The laughter fades into music, the rides slow to stillness, and the smell of fall lingers like haze.
We ended our night at the Drone Show, Dinos Soar in the Sky, cuddled together under 500 glowing lights that painted the sky with pumpkins and dinosaurs.
The boys watched in awe, faces lit by wonder. It felt like the perfect curtain call on another beautiful season.
We closed down the park hand in hand, knowing the next time we walk these paths, they’ll be a little taller, a little braver, and ready to take on a new season and level of thrill.
Bittersweet, yes but so incredibly beautiful.

💛 Wrapping It Up: Growing Up at Holiday World
As parents, we measure time in memories, not calendars. And Happy Halloween Weekends at Holiday World has become one of those touchstone times.
Every fall visit means another candle on the birthday cake, casting that warm glow that feels like coming home.
No matter how much life changes, Holiday World always feels like family.
Someday they’ll outgrow the kiddie rides, but they’ll never outgrow what it feels like to be here, together.
