Comfortable Footwear

Nothing ruins a fun day at the park like uncomfortable shoes.

No matter what, your visit will involve a lot of walking, so comfortable footwear is a must.

Opt for sneakers or well-cushioned sandals to keep your feet happy throughout the day. I make sure my toddlers wear tennis shoes to help prevent tripping, slipping, and sliding around in backless sandals. I’m a sandal girlie through and through, but we also spot lots of Crocs each visit.

Whatever you do, choose comfort!

Lightweight and Breathable Clothing

Lightweight, breathable clothing always helps with comfort when spending the day under the sun.

My typical Holiday World uniform varies between a lightweight sundress, sleeveless rompers, or athletic shorts and a tank. After a few visits, we’ve learned that taking the boys in their swim trunks, sleeveless tee and ball cap are the best way to go!

Our summer essential? Splashing around Splashin’ Safari.

Regardless of if you’re planning to zoom down the Jungle Racers, float around the lazy river or bounce through the wave pool, swimwear is a must! If you’re unsure about visiting the water area, pack one just in case. After a few hours in the sun, you’ll be glad you did!

Don’t overlook bringing a change of clothing, too!

After a waterpark visit, I always change my little ones into a fresh set of dry clothing. It makes stopping for rides and snacks on our way out much more comfortable. The car ride home is also a naptime oasis, so they sleep easy and dry!

Essential Accessories

With a crew of kiddos, we opt to bring a backpack for our change of clothes, towels and everything else.

If you’re visiting solo, a small crossbody is a great option for the bare necessitites. This hands-free option will let you enjoy the rides and attractions without worrying about your belongings.

Pack your claw clips, elastic bands, or a hair scarf to create an easy, practical hairstyle. Beating the heat is a little more comfortable with a ponytail or bun! I’m always thankful for my claw clip once we make our way to Splashin’ Safari. Our little ones love having a ball cap or bucket hat, especially after a few hours in the sun.

A few noteworthy goods you’ll be happy you packed include sunglasses, sandals for the waterpark, waterproof phone baggie, and cashless payment options.

We recently started taking reusable bottles and they’ve been so convenient for the unlimited soft drinks! Disposable cups are provided, but bringing our own is really helpful to prevent spilling when our toddlers are walking from ride to ride. It’s a great way to keep everyone hydrated during our visits!

Remember, the key to a successful day at Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari is to strike the perfect balance between comfort and style.

Dress practically & pack the essentials to avoid discomfort, allowing your crew to create happy, lasting memories.
