HOLIDAY WORLD HIRING 2,100 FOR SEASON
NEW ‘JOB PREVIEW VIDEOS’ PROVIDE DETAILS

Holiday World & Splashin' Safari Video Job PreviewSANTA CLAUS, IND.-----Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari officials expect to review a record number of job applications as they prepare to fill 2,100 seasonal positions in the coming months.

“We’re looking for friendly and energetic individuals who enjoy working with people,” says Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari President Matt Eckert. “We need ride operators, lifeguards, and sweepers, plus staff for admissions, shops, games and foods. We’re like a small city – we have quite a variety of jobs available.”

New this year is a series of six Job Preview Videos, featuring actual employees explaining their daily responsibilities, including what they enjoy and what they find challenging.

“These YouTube videos – which are also available on our website – pull back the curtain to show job seekers what is involved in working in six different departments here at the park,” says Eckert. “We hope the videos will help applicants decide ahead of time where they’d most enjoy working.”

Most of the park’s seasonal positions are available to applicants who will be 16 years and older by May 2013. A limited number of additional jobs require a minimum age of 14 years by May. Applicants must be at least 14 years old on the date their online application is submitted. Retirees and other adults seeking seasonal employment are also encouraged to apply.

To view the videos and fill out an application, job seekers should visit HolidayWorld.com/Apply.

First-year employees earn a base rate of $7.25 to $8.15 an hour. Benefits include: a personal Season Pass, park food and merchandise discounts, free soft drinks, employee parties, incentive and awards programs, free admission to other parks, and more.

This season, the park will again offer an Employee Transportation Program for seasonal employees who would not otherwise have a ride to work. Available at a nominal fee, bus rides will be offered in Huntingburg, Newburgh, Boonville, Evansville and Tell City, Indiana, plus Owensboro, Kentucky.

Holiday World opens for the season on May 4; both parks will be open daily beginning May 10, with the debut of Hyena Falls, a water-slide complex with four in-the-dark slides.
